big weekend of slack

After a hellishly busy day at the office on Friday (think the scene in Jurassic Park III where the baby pterodactyl's are nipping at one of the characters), Jen rescued me so we could play hooky by catching a matinée of Ultraviolet. I know what you are thinking, but all I have to say is Milla Jovovich in form fitting outfits, big guns (weapons that is), gratuitous violence, amazing CGI, and Milla Jovovich in form fitting outfits (that bears repeating). As any comic book adaptation to the big screen, it was cheesy dialogue, but that matters not (see my previous reasons). Afterwards, it was not quite 5:0pm, so going back to office was not an option. We decided to browse the Maumee Antique Mall for about an hour...so many cool old things, so many wacky items as well (almost axwackey). The rest of the evening was spent having yummy pizza and of course, BSG. I enjoyed the episode well enough, but as seems to be the trend on some of the past episodes, they are moving at break-neck speeds through their storyline, leaving some things out. I understand they need to setup quite a bit of foundation for next weeks 90 minute season finale (w00t!).

Saturday was spent doing some light cleaning and weeding through my wardrobe of crap that is frayed and simply does not fit myself or the current era. I did a little work on an on-line summer camp registration form for the YMCA of Toledo (see Jen's post about me registering Boo for summercamp) but that wasn't too terribly time consuming. I also fixed the antenna on the Paseo, so Jen has radio again. Otherwise, the evening was spent playing Diablo II (old school baby) and watching movies with Jen. We watched Flight Plan last night and to sum it up in a word: disappointing. The story had more holes then Internet Explorer, the acting was weak for Jody Foster, the pace was slow, and I know I've seen this before....oh yeah, Panic Room only with more suck...I cannot recommend this movie...

Today is off to a grand start, ham & cheese quiche and pancakes with strawberries always makes for a good start to the day. No NASCAR this week, so probably back to Diablo II or perhaps some more movies... we have from netflix Mirror Mask and Finding Neverland still, so another lazy day I think...

Looking forward to next weekend already, time with friends we have not seen in ages...
